OH, this going to be entering my doom..blah blah…hey don’t interrupt my doom!

Hey don't interrupt me entering my doom!
We were at our indoor pool. I was alerady in the water which was cold! My friend was taking her time, as she realized that I was serious. We prefer warm water. I mentioned that she had come this far, and she needed to get in. She muttered a few things, whoahing the dilema, I am going to enter my doom. I said something erroneous. She said. “Hey! Don’t interrupt me, “I’m entering my doom!” I broke up laughing.
The punchline her is 2 fold: I broke up laughing. I feel that I need to find the way to laugh more and more lately. Everything can be so daunting, and perhaps a little serious. Like the new Obama budget. Overwhelming. I heard the other day that they figured the Social Security problem could be fixed for the next 75 years with $500 billion.
Instead a trillion for 1 year. Do you need to find more ways to laugh?
Second moral: Have you noticed that some people are either really insensitive to those in need, hurting, unemployed, poor, etc, or are super positive as if nothing wrong is going on? Or people who are heavily invested in their tragedy and doom? So I expanded the topic a bit.
In addition to laughter, I am practising compassion. I need some balance. I know that high numbers of unemployed doesn’t mean one needs to not find a job. 2 of my longer periods of unemployment were in “recessions” with significantly higher percentages of unemployment. Once I loosened the reins on what would be acceptable jobs, I found work. During another recession, I was visible enough that people kept wanting to give me jobs, even when I had one! Those were the days. I doubt it would be as easy now. I’d rather keep creating my own jobs.
In times like these, compassion becomes more and more essential. People are urting and struggling, and may be at a loss for their next step. They needs friends, and people who understand. Once my friend got in the water, she did fine. I shivered more than normal, but then I knew I’d have the sauna right after. It’s good to have a sauna. Great tool to help face the world.
More to laugh about later.
