Walk Away Troubles and Pains

Ah the tree survives and so do we

Ah the tree survives and so do we

In the southwest where the climate can be VERY dry, the fact that the tree survived becomes a wondrous act of life. The tree shown was only a few years old, and may have enjoyed a little extra water.

The last few days we have been blessed with rains. Leaves and everything are rapidly growing. Life seems to be fourishng. However in the economic sector the opposite continues to happen.

More and more people are being laid off. Jobs are slow in forthcoming. Stress increases. One’e life can change dramactically with two or three word: you’re fired! or you’re laid off!

Even if you still have your job, insecurity can increase as you see fellow workers walk away. Once of the best ways to deal with such flux is to start a walking program. Even if you walk only 10 minutes a day you can build up benefits.

First you oxengeate your whole body, especially your brain. If you walk outside , observing nature renews your spirits, and you can release some stress. Endorphins work. Often a new perspective is born. You are better prepared to compplete your work, and be nicer to the family when you arrive home.

A walk with the family after dinner also can bring joy and unity helping each face another day! More on walking later!

Big Sky Big Changes Photo by Mary MacIntyre

Big Sky Big Changes Photo by Mary MacIntyre

Well…My friends always used to want to do my chart. The readings were often different, and as time went by, I lost my birth certificate and the time of my birth! My mother and I have different versions for when I was born. SHe knew she had to postpone her breakfast, however now the real details for my chart have disappeared.

Any reading can be helpful, and if you find a good astrologer, then you have many resources for reflecting on your life and perhps future. REad on for more information.
Ascendant sign

Technically speaking, your rising sign, or ascendant, reflects the zodiac sign that was ascending on the Eastern horizon at the moment you took your first breath in this world. This is why an exact birth time is so vital to finding your accurate rising sign. Located on the cusp of the first house of your astrological chart — or at the nine o’clock position — the rising sign can exert an influence almost as powerful as your Sun and Moon signs.

If you were to think of your Sun sign as your soul — your inner personality and potential — and your Moon sign as your heart — your emotional core — then you could say that your rising sign is your physical self or the face you present to the world. For example, though your Sun sign might be Taurus, your rising sign could very well be Gemini. While you’re feeling laid-back, others will tend to see you as a ball of nervous energy and cerebral wit.

At times, your rising sign may act as a mask, hiding some aspect of your inner self you don’t feel like revealing. Your Ascendant sign describes your temperament, your outward mannerisms and behavior, the personality you put on public display. It is the part of yourself you are most willing for other people to see in casual, impersonal situations. Changes here will explain why even people born on the same day as you will have very different personalities, different strengths and interests, and different life experiences.

The Ascendant is also called the Rising Sign of a person’s chart. Astrologers use the two terms interchangeably. It is literally the sign that was rising on the Eastern horizon of the sky at the time you were born in the place where you were born. This is why it is essential to have both a birthplace and a birth time in order to cast a completely valid Natal Chart.

Yoga as Exercise: Relax and tone up

You'll Never Walk ALone

You'll Never Walk ALone

Walking down memory lane, I remembered that the first exercise class that I enjoyed and did for several years was yoga. I was 23 or so and knew I needed to exercise which I dreaded. Been there? I did have a bike, and I did walk a fair amount, but I “needed” more.

I started a yoga class and quickly was hooked. My teacher was wonderful and also soon became one of my best friends, even though she was in her 50’s. Below is an intor article re: yoga.
Want to harn more about yoga? Let me know. Leave a comment. Feel free to copy and share with others. PS: I did lose weight and toned up nice. I also was able to improve my flexibility and deeply relax. Best of all I began to like myself better.

Yoga as exercise

Yoga is a meditation exercise that has been around for centuries and came about from the traditions of Buddha and Hindu. There are many people who have let go of the religious aspect of the yoga exercise program, but has used it because the techniques include a lot of benefits. You will find that there are ways that you can use the stretches and strength building exercises for you to work on your self image. You will be able to burn the fat, increase your flexibility, and also build muscles. There are lot of other exercises that you can also go in joint with yoga. When you combine yoga with some other cardiovascular exercise, you will be able to make your body healthier than ever.

Yoga is traditionally seen as a routine of exercises that will rejuvenate the body. That is, although yoga is a difficult workout, it should make you energized as opposed to draining your body and making your feel tired. Therefore, when pairing yoga with other forms of exercise, do yoga first. You may be able to use yoga as a warm up. You will want to do this before you start any cardiovascular or any strength training exercises. You will find that warming up is very important to any work out.

Yoga will teach your breathing techniques that will prepare you for some other exercise. Yoga can also teach breathing to prepare you for other exercises. In yoga classes, students must often learn breathing techniques that help calm the spirit and focus the mind. With these techniques you will be able to breathe fully and there will be more oxygen going to your brain and throughout the other parts of the body. By practicing yoga, you will be able to do cardiovascular exercises for a longer period of time, since you will not be so quickly out of breath.

Since yoga will help you to increase flexibility, you will be able to prevent some injures when you are doing other sports or exercises. Yoga can be viewed as an entire exercise regimen focused on stretching muscles. It also helps minimize and prevent injuries because yoga allows you to find your limits. This is important when practicing any sort of physical activity.

Vision Review for COaches and all of us

Take your challenges in hand

Take your challenges in hand

This is part 2. Go to previous post to begin and…
here are notes from something I was reading. Empowering you and your visions can be accomplised through multiple paths. Below are words to help you open your mind while your heart will take off to do your work. Mind movies are a fun way to expand your enthusiasm or recharge you when you get stuck or tired.

More videos in the previous blogs.

Idea 7: Take Action and “Go For It!”

Nothing happens without action. Once you have come up with a Vision that seems to fit well, ACT ON IT. It might not be perfect, but if it’s “good enough”, then get going! You can always “course correct”.

Don’t get bogged down in thinking about HOW you’re going to get there. Momentum is a powerful force,

perhaps THE most important force when you’re first embarking for your Vision.

A sailor on a long voyage can never know for sure the exact course they will take to their destination.

He/she will need to constantly make corrections for winds, current, and unforeseen challenges along the route. In the same way, you can tweak and adapt your own journey.

Idea 6: K.I.S.S. (Keep It Short & Simple)

Once you have a pretty good idea of your vision,

simplify it. Keep honing it down and find ways to bring more clarity. Be brutal; in fact go for what is sometimes call “brutal clarity of purpose”.

There is a nice analogy between

a vision and a powerful photo. A very successful studio photographer was asked how he

consistently came up with powerful photos. He responded, “Once I’ve got all the elements in

the photo that I think I need, I start taking away from it. If I remove or simplify an

element or item and it helps, I keep the change. I continue this process with everything I

can until it hurts the overall image. That’s when I know I’ve got my image.”

The lesson:

try simplifying or removing extraneous parts of your vision. Ask yourself, “Does it help –

or hinder? If it helps, keep the change. If it doesn’t, put it back. Continue with this process until you have the best picture you can.

CONCLUSION
Developing a Vision and acting on it is one of the most essential steps to creating a successful coaching practice. It is also one of the most powerful services you can offer your clients in helping them manifest

their fullest potential.

Try these 7 ideas to help you do this. If something works for you, use it! If it doesn’t, discard it. We all have our own best ways of finding and developing our Vision. What matters most is that you do it, then act on it.

OK you got this far. Now translate this into your own words. Find a way to increase its meaning for you. What do you WANT to do and How Do YOU want to proceed on your journey? Make this process your own and be gentle with yourself on your journey.

Feel free to copy and share. Also your comments are welcomed. May your journey add peace to the world.

Take your challenges in hand

Take your challenges in hand

“Take you passion and make it happen” The following videos provide you an excellent introduction to this post’s topic. Yeah yeah you may already know a lot about visioning. In fact the term may have become an overused buzz word.

My question to all of us remains how long have you envigoarated or refined your vision? I went about my usual introduction to working today. In my email box was the normal sign up for this giveaway now… and I randomly thought maybe I should. Just a few minutes.

While downloading some articles I took note of a little* Yep just that simple * woke me up to the fact that I had tons of ways of setting up webpages.

I realized I could fastforward and dramactically expand my recent thinking. I also realized I had a friend who might help me.
So After dinner the deal was made and I’m off to finally taking action. Mostly because I spent hours earlier fantasizing my “visions”.

Having a strong, clear vision is the cornerstone of coaching success – both for coaches and their clients. A great coach must not only have a strong vision of their own; they must also be able to help their client or “PBC” (Person Being Coached) developing theirs.

The best visions are clear, useful, achievable and inseparable from who and what you (or your clients) are. As a coach, if you can master the skill of helping to create clear and authentic visions in yourself and others, you’ll be light years ahead of your competition. .

It helps both you and your clients with the foundation upon which they can build a successful and satisfying life – both personally and professionally.

FIRST, WORK ON YOUR OWN VISION

Without a clear vision of what you want to do, where you want to go, or what you, success will be much more difficult – even impossible – to achieve.. How can you know
what to do – what actions to take - if you don’t know where you’re going?

When a challenging storm bears down, the gale-force winds will likely capsize your latest plans immediately. You’ll end up looking like you were aboard the Ship of Fools.

Having a clear vision and mission is what gives you that destination. Even though gale-force challenges may temporarily capsize your progress, you’ll more easily be able to get back on
course and reach your objectives.

Contrary to what many people think, visions do not
usually magically appear. They can take time - requiring introspection, self-analysis, and journaling. It also helps to review your past successes and – just as important – your past

disappointments and failures. Draw on your dream, talents and desire. Observe your calling to be a coach.

The first place to look when developing your vision is within – to that deeper inner self. You can draw upon your talent, dreams and desires, or whatever other avenues help you uncover those nuggets that will become your navigational beacons in life.

Unfortunately, there are usually no shortcuts in creating your vision. You can’t just “make it up”; it takes WORK. But the rewards for doing this work can save you years – even a lifetime – of frustration by enabling you and your clients to live the life one is
destined for.

SEVEN IDEAS TO HELP DEVELOP YOUR VISION

Idea 1: Listen and Look Within

Since vision starts within, it makes sense to listen and feel what your mind and soul really

want. What stirs your heart? What is your greatest desire? What do you dream about?
Bottom line: Make sure your vision comes from within. If what you want to pursue does not truly come your inner depths, it will likely be impossible to achieve.

Idea 2: Seek the

Help of Others; Make It a Team Sport
We do not live in a bubble. Utilize a team where you

can. Heed the advice of a person who has more experiences in you – especially in coaching.

Find a coach who works on vision. Seek help from friends who know you well. They can help

you confirm or question your own observations and provide a reality check.

Creating a

MasterMind Group of 4-6 people also working on their vision can be extremely powerful. Use

weekly or semi-weekly calls to support each other and keep the momentum going.

Asking and

using others for guidance not only helps you with your own vision; it also puts you on the

receiving end of help. This experience will in turn help you when you become the coach

helping others with their vision. You’ll have done the proverbial “walk in their shoes”.

Idea #2: Create a Sacred, Inner Space to Go Deeper

The vision you create for your practice

begins in your mind and heart. It is something you can feel, taste, see, hear and touch

with your soul.

Creating a supportive, inner environment is a powerful way to aid you in

developing your vision. To access the inner depths of your mind and heart, find a way to

retreat to a serene and tranquil place where your mind is free of the “outer noise”.

In

this sacred space, your heart, mind, and soul can more easily access what might be called

Source. What you can find there is your most Authentic Self. Tap into this successfully,

and your vision is likely to spring forth easily.

Though your mind may resist with every

fiber of its being, try surrender into this emptiness. Check your brain out at the door. A

Zen master once said, “You already are that which you seek.” But you’ll find it much easier

to uncover that if you are relaxed and can get your mind out of the way.

Step 3: Ask (the

Right) Questions

Ask the questions that provoke and encourage answers to the deeper

questions. These might include:

• What is the single most important thing my practice

needs to go to the next level and further help my customers best?
• What are the three

most important actions I need to take in order to increase my sales or income?
• What

are the three most important changes I need to make in order to help me and/or my clients

accomplish my/their objectives?
• What is the single biggest challenge that – if

resolved – would most help me or my clients.

Idea 5: Identity the Problems Holding You

Back

Sometimes we’re just plain stuck. What about you? Where are your points of

“stuck-ed-ness”? Discussing it with others – especially your coach and MasterMind team –

is a powerful way to uncover the detours around or through the roadblocks holding you back

from developing your vision.

There are times when we must first clear the rocks off the

trail before we can continue on our path of self-discovery. Moving these out of the way

helps unblock the energy flow, enabling us to more easily tap into the Source for

answers.

Twilight: between times

Twilight: between times

phtot by Mary

Everyone with strong self esteem raise your hands. Good many of you have survived the wear and tear of everyday living. I would raise my hand too. However over the last few weeks, as I am addressing physical and emotional issues, I have come to realize that over the years I am in some ways much harder on myself. In fact emotionally, time has come to release some old emotional drama to let my energy and self caring re-emerge. I thought I was “So done” with this. I’ve copied the following from an ebook I found.

Chapter 3 – Questions to Ask Yourself

When you are looking for your true passion because you seek happiness in your life or that there is a gap you need to fill there are many questions you need to ask yourself.

By carefully answering these questions will help you understand more about yourself and possibly what might be holding yourself back from being happy and pursuing your passions. Here are many questions you should ask yourself. You might want to get out a notepad to answer these questions or just make a mental note. Writing the answers down is usually better.

What really inspires and engages you?

This question may be a little difficult to answer but you may find the answer after you finish the rest of the questions. However, you need to be very clear about where you get your inspiration from. What are the types of things you find engaging and exciting?

If you couldn’t fail, what would you do?

Many people don’t do things because they are afraid to fail or they have failed in the past. If there is something that you would do for sure if you knew there isn’t a chance whatsoever of failing what would that be?

If you were forced to start over again, what would you do?

Many people find themselves in situations where they have fallen into a situation where they are not doing as they wish they were. They go to work because they have to not enjoying a single day of it. If you started over again would you take advantage of the new beginning or would you go back to where you are? What would you do?

If money wasn’t an issue, what would you do?

Many people have dreams they wish to pursue but they never attempt to move forward with the dreams because they cannot afford to get started. Think of what you would love to do if you had the money to do it. This can be anything.

What is your biggest dream?

If you have a big dream, what is it? There must be something you really want to do that you dream about. Think about this one thing and focus on it.

What is the biggest barrier stopping you from following your dream?

Name all of the things that have caused you to not follow your big dreams. These things could be people who do not support you, money, fears, and other things. There are many different types of barriers which can be overcome. You might not see opportunity or success with your dreams or you may fear that people would make fun of you. You might not even be skilled and lack talent. These could be barriers causing you not to move forward.

What passion are you afraid of owning or admitting?

Many people have dreams and passions they are afraid to talk about out of fear of being made fun of by other people. You might think your passion is silly to other people. What is this one thing?

As a child, what did you really want to be?

Did you have dreams of becoming someone as a child and it didn’t turn out quite as expected? Do you still wonder what it would have been like if you did follow your dreams as a child? If you had the opportunity, would you follow this dream today?

If you were going to die in the near future, what would you regret not doing?

Many people have regrets when they realize they are going to die real soon. It is often too late for many people to go back and change the things they missed out on. They would have lived their lives completely differently if they had the chance. If a doctor told you that you hadn’t any time left but a few weeks, then what would your regrets be? What would you want to do before your time was up?

Now that you have answered these questions you should have a good idea of some of the things that make you happy and your dreams. You need to have a clear idea of the things you have always dreamed to do. Just think about if you won the lottery and what you would do with the money. What would you do with yourself? Knowing these things is very important

It seems that the internet has become very interested in Square Foot Gardening! Stumbleupon sent me a notice about the following site. Great source for traffic and ideas about your interests. So I copied the clip. Really inrerested in learning more about organic gardening? You can sign up below and presto in your mailbox.

As you may realize, thousands of familieis and single folk are returning to growing their own veggies. You can control your quality, benefi from fresh, and not be at the mercy of cotamination or marketplace woes. Don’t have the inclination to grow your own food? Support local farmers markets. Consider what would happen to us if we have to import all our own food??? Plan for the future: garden now!

Square Foot’ gardening
If you have a pocket handkerchief garden, or are a novice vegetable grower, why not try gardening in a 4ft x 4ft square? This is all the space you need to start a square foot garden, explains Colin Shaw who is adapting this high input technique to organic growing, with trial plots at Ryton and in his own garden.

How much can you grow in a bed measuring 4ftx4ft (1.2mx1.2m)?
You may be surprised by the results claimed for the ‘Square Foot’ gardening technique imported from the US. The idea was developed about 20 years back by Mel Bartholomew and his claims are impressive. A typical bed can contain everything from leeks to lettuce, even allowing some space for attractant plants.

Love, weight loss, and intuition

Wow! This is a great set of resources for you. I had a slightly different idea when I started, however the videos opened new doors. Have you considered the connections of love and weight loss?
Of course, many of us are different and have multiple causes for weight gain. Still if this is an issue and concern for you, do visit the above links to examine how your feelings may add to the pounds.

Also the second video is a good start. If weight loss is not an issue for you, the newsletter gives lots of other posts that will address issues you may be dealing with and how love can move you toward healing. These are great tools to have to ease stress or pain in your life.

If you got this far, great! No matter where we start on considering the issue of love, answer this question: how much and how often do you love yourself? Until recently, I would have answered of course I love myself! I do. The how often is another story. If I were to complete a thought journal of my mind chatter and feelings about me, at least 50% would be less than loving. A friend recently asked me if I were being a good parent to myself? I do many good things for myself, yet at that moment I was far from a loving parent to myself.

Practise loving yourself. Do it in many forms and include a spiritual loving of yourself. Your world will open up. More about intuition later.

Need copy for a blog? Visit youtube. Pick a topic and proceed. Of course you then need to apply what you find to a message that others will want to read! It’s easy to get on a roll.

The WInds of Change…we are all subject to these winds now. The winds of change may tear you apart. Listen to these lyrics while you read the quotes. You may suddenly find your world turned upside down. If you were one of those car dealers what would you do? If you lost your job today what would you do? Do you have faith to rise up, stand tall, and recreate your faith and prosperity?

Try saying yes. That’s a first step.

Realize that there are people all around you who can stand with you and offer support and help. In fact you can do the same too. Together you can find ways to create new journeys.

Yes you can find work that will satisfy you. Yes you may even create new jobs. Perhaps you will reach out to dreams neglected. Paths open for us all. The “Okies” went to California and farmed again. SOme found other jobs, some died. Most however, found ways to build lives, as did those who stayed behind, and kept small towns alive. OUr lives can change and thrive. Join the group.

Look within and discover...

I love good stories. Especially when they appear unexpectedly. Take a look at this one.

If you watched these 2 videos, perhaps you will find strength to review how you approach your world. Where does compassion fit into your life? All too often I keep my compassion in my back pocket. However today, I met customers who really needed some extra help. I decided to stay with them a little longer, and they seemed to light up and feel appreciative. Each person had a plan to reduce pain and expand their path to health.

Little acts of kindness can spread a healing energy to many. Consider these vibrations. I smiled at one sad looking woman. She, in turn shifted her attention and smiled back. Perhaps, we both extended acceptance and acknowledgement to others. By the end of the day how many people, however briefly, might feel better?

We can spread love, peace, and accpetance anytime we choose. Perhaps we can take new viewpoints to open ourselves to the blessings in this world. Take time to stop and think, and can you expand your life, heart, feelings to have more room to give a little light to others around you. If yes, then thanks for joining the peace train. Perfection is in God’s hands. We can share in God’s light. Namaste. Mary

On Completion and Hope

Spring is a time of beginnings. I love beginnings. I love the creative potential living in beginnings.

And, I have a certain uneasiness, maybe sometimes a terror, of completion. This is probably because I confuse completion with ending, death, nevermore, impossible to alter or evolve, ultimate separation.

So I feel I am overwhelmed with incompletions. Paradoxically, this is hardly true as my life is full of completions. I get things done and done well. Yet, I seem to avoid looking at and recognizing the completions and closures that abound in my life.

I am going to use this post as a way to explore my feelings. From my experience as a counselor I am aware many people have similar issues. If you are one of those lucky individuals with a clear sense of process – of beginning, middle and end – I would ask you to post your words of wisdom to share with the rest of us.

What is a way I can reframe “completion” so that I feel safe and alive?

I just looked up the definition and the etymological root of completion. I could write a book on each of the definitions.

From the Latin root I get the picture of “fulfill.”

The dictionary offers several definitions:

Collected together – ordered.
Run its course – finished, done.
Entire, full, to the greatest extent.
Successfully throw to a receiver – boy, this is important for me as I am a message maker and need to get the message to my audience. If I have difficulty completing I will never fulfill my life’s purpose.
Make whole or perfect – I am so stuck with not feeling whole or loveable/perfect that I project it on to my life and my work.
Hope never lets me complete!

There is an insight forming in my soul as I write. It is about hope. Hope keeps me from being aware of all my “completions.” Hope keeps me focused on the future. Completion is a focus on what has been done in the past.

My painful childhood developed in me such a strong sense of hope and an strong identity with hope. Hope was my survival. To survive I needed to endure and hope. I hoped for rescue. I did not plan an escape. Rescue is wishful and passive. Escape is intentional and active. I did not have a plan! I did not have benchmarks of accomplishment. I had hope.

Like Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, I thought sleep (even with all the nightmares) was the way to pass the time until the rescuing kiss touched my lips. Hope kept telling me all I had to do was go to sleep and dream. I did not need to have a plan of action with a beginning, a middle, and an end.

My identification with hope as the path to fulfillment was so powerful that all that I was actually doing to shape my life (when I wasn’t just hoping) seemed like a vague disembodied dream. I couldn’t experience process or completion. I only felt real and my life only felt real when I was hoping.

Hope can be addictive. From a neurochemical perspective, hope triggers the release of dopamine, the pleasure reward neurotransmitter that is the root of addiction. We call addictive, dopamine-producing drugs, dope. My dope has been hope.

Plant,protect the earth

Plant,protect the earth

Every garden needs 6-8 hours of sunshine. Do you know about vertical gardening? Do you know how to grow lettuce all summer long? Go to the third video.

Not a lot of space to garden in? Square foot garden has plenty of ideas and there also is a video on container gardening. New to gardening? Then these videos are a great help as they describe ideas and tricks to save you time and money!

If you are in the southwest, container garden appears to save you water. Also if contstucted correctly, there may be less evaporation. However, I have found with even less than perfect soil, my plants seem to thrive more in taditional dirt. Amazing? It may be partly when the ionically charged rain does fall (rarely) it really charges the plant and the root system.

Here’s my partial solution. I create small raised beds. I did a hole in the location I choose, 12-14″ deep is ideal, but not always possible. I pour in topsoil organic or organic potting soil which I allow to go 2-3″ above the hole. I take the dirt that I dug the hole with and surroround the perimeter of the bed with it. I use rocks or larger stones to reduce erosion and keep moisture in.

I have also taken a pile of leaves, yard clippings, or compost and made a “nest” 4-6 inches deep. I pour in soil into the nest and then plant. The cuttings-mulch proives drainage, creates a “container” and the outside helps keep moisture in and erosion down. “Cheap” and easy.
Garden it is good for body and soul.
